Celtic magic: mushrooms

Take a psychoactive walk through Irish forests…if that’s what your into?

Walking through the forests of Ireland reveals many a strange wonder from nature.

I found this one last week called ‘Amanita Muscaria’, or as I now know it…a big feckin red mushroom that if parboiled shows you a whole new hallucinogenic view of Ireland (apparently)!

Although generally considered poisonous , human deaths as a result of eating this  attractive looking mushroom are extremely rare.  Parboiling it is the only way of  removing its  ‘psychoactive properties’. I wouldn’t take the chance personally. I just thought it looked striking in its surroundings.

Ananita muscaria...leave well alone me thinks!
