..or a cannonball lost in time?

The once mighty walls now crumbling.

At first it was by cannonball and fire, now it’s the passage of hundreds of years that conquer this hilltop fortress in Ireland.

In the 1100’s, ‘Donamase  Castle’ was the most important Anglo-Norman fortification in the county of Laois. The King of Leinster brought the kidnaped wife of a rival King here.

This did not go down too well with the locals!
